Verner Panton trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In Copenhagen he initially worked in Arne Jacobsen's, who designed the Egg Chair architectural practice. Verner Panton established his own design office in 1955. Later with the Verner Panton chair, he is credited first with the design of the very first single-form injection-molded plastic chair -the Stacking chair designed in 1960. Verner Panton was also the first to create inflatable furniture. One of the highlights of Verner Panton 's career is the Fantasy Landscapes he created for Bayer in 1968 that have now achieved cult status. Verner Panton thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, in bold colors and shapes - quite evident in the Panton chair. He died in 1998. Verner Panton stated "The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination. Most people spend their lives housed in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colors." In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the lobby and reception areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This organically shaped chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture design throughout the world. Because of the unique shape, the Egg guarantees a bit of privacy in otherwise public spaces, and the Egg, with or without ottoman, is ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the h The Egg originated in Arne Jacobsen's garage cast in plaster. Today the synthetic shell is padded with cold foam and covered with fabric or different types of leather resting on a star shaped aluminium base. Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. His cooperation with Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. The Ant and Series 7 chairs, produced in 1952, propelled both Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen's names into furniture history. At the end of the 50's Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which introduced the Egg, the Swan, the Swan sofa and Series 3300 to the design world. Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer. His furniture and other design work have become a national and international heritage. The shell of the Egg is of polyurethane foam with fiberglass reinforcement. The shell has an adjustable tilt which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user. Finnish Coffee Fingers

Here are some Finnish Coffee Fingers for you. Theres no coffee (or fingers) in these cookies but its a cookie that goes well with a cup of coffee or Chai tea. I brought them into my work and my co-workers gave me a lot of really nice comments on them. Its a basic butter cookie which is soft and delicate and has a wonderful sweet almond flavor. If youre not big on almond flavor you can use vanilla extract instead and top with a different nut of your choice, pistachio would look real pretty Of course now its no longer a Finnish Coffee Finger but thats OK because thats how cookies evolve. Have fun making these cookies!

Finnish Coffee Fingers (makes 35 cookies)

Ingredients:

1 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature

1/2 c. sugar

1 tsp. almond extract (or vanilla)

2 1/2 c. flour

1 egg yolk, beaten with 1 Tbsp. cold water

1/2 c. finely chopped almonds

sugar for sprinkling

Directions:

Using a hand-held or stand mixer, place butter and sugar in the bowl and beat until soft and smooth. Add almond extract and while continuing to mix, add flour in small increments. Mix until dough comes together.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Lightly flour your work surface if needed. Roll dough into ropes the thickness of a ring finger and cut into 2-3 inch pieces. Gently press the top of dough lightly with the back of your finger. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with chopped almonds and sugar.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.

Because the oil fills the pores of the wood, finger prints and day to day dirt are less likely to be absorbed into the wood in comparison to unfinished wood. NOTE: Danish Oil is NOT the same as a Lacquered/Glossy Finish; instead it is oil that leaves a slightly silky feel to natural untreated wood. Like all platform beds, this frame does not require the use of a foundation or box spring. We use Southern Yellow Pine bed slats for their strength to create a solid platform for your mattress while this also allows room for good air circulation. Outside bed height is 15 Inches and your mattress or futon will drop into a slightly recessed area (approx. 1/4 inch-1/2 inch). In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the lobby and reception areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This organically shaped chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture design throughout the world. Because of the unique shape, the Egg guarantees a bit of privacy in otherwise public spaces, and the Egg, with or without ottoman, is ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the h The Egg originated in Arne Jacobsen's garage cast in plaster. Today the synthetic shell is padded with cold foam and covered with fabric or different types of leather resting on a star shaped aluminium base. Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. His cooperation with Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. The Ant and Series 7 chairs, produced in 1952, propelled both Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen's names into furniture history. At the end of the 50's Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which introduced the Egg, the Swan, the Swan sofa and Series 3300 to the design world. Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer. His furniture and other design work have become a national and international heritage. The shell of the Egg is of polyurethane foam with fiberglass reinforcement. The shell has an adjustable tilt which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user. The base consists of a satin polished, welded steel tube and a four star base in injection molded aluminium. Countless "traditional" recipes for them exist, but any old pancake recipe will do, including prepackaged pancake mix and concoctions beginning with cake mixes. Shape defines ebleskiver, not ingredients, and only an ebleskiver pan delivers. Safe on gas or electric stovetops, this one is made from heavy cast aluminum so it won't warp.
